It was built as one of the last representative buildings of the former GDR on the occasion of the 750th anniversary of Berlin in 1987. With a diameter of 30 meters, its dome dominates the Berlin cityscape. A large planetarium room with 307 and a cinema room with 160 seats offer space for exciting forays through the world of astronomy and science.
The planetarium no longer shows only astronomical programs, but brings the visitors*in the variety of all natural sciences close. Especially through the new 360° fulldome technology, scientifically challenging topics can be presented impressively and entertainingly at the same time.
